Fredericton Transit rolled out a new colourful custom-designed bus in celebration and recognition of Pride month. The newly wrapped bus will be in service throughout Pride Season, from June through August, helping to promote inclusion, diversity, and community pride across the city.
June marks the start of Pride Season, a time to celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and their contributions. This is the first ever “Ride with Pride” bus and it enforces the city’s ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive municipality.
“This bus reflects our commitment to fostering an inclusive municipality where all residents feel seen, represented, and connected,” said Gwen McIntrye, the city’s manager of community inclusion. “It celebrates the diversity and resilience and the people that help make Fredericton a wonderful place to call home.”
The bus is a City led initiative developed in collaboration with a local professional graphic designer selected through a public expression of interest process.
The design was created by Red Knot Studio, a Fredericton-based creative studio focused on tattoos, illustration, art and graphic design. Inspired by storytelling, connection, and community, the studio brings together artistic and design practices to create meaningful visual work that feels both expressive and approachable. Originally founded by Chilean designers now based in New Brunswick, Red Knot Studio values projects that celebrate identity, inclusion and human connection.
“For this project, we wanted the design to reflect both the vibrancy and strength of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, while creating something that people across Fredericton can feel proud to see moving through their city” said Daniela Molina, the designer. “It’s been an honour to contribute to a project that celebrates inclusion and visibility in a meaningful way.”
The “Ride with Pride” bus will operate as part of the regular Fredericton Transit fleet, appearing on routes across the city.
