The Fredericton Police Force and Fredericton Fire Department announce the outstanding results of the 2026 Guns & Hoses Charity Hockey Event, held on January 24, which raised a record-breaking total of $20,077.18 in support of the Fredericton Food Bank – Greener Village.

This year’s event generated nearly 1,992 lbs of food donations valued at $7,250.88, along with $12,826.30 in sponsorships and monetary contributions.

These donations will provide essential resources to individuals and families facing food insecurity, creating meaningful change that reaches far beyond the rink.

This surpasses the 2025 event's 1,368 lbs of food and $12,649.44 total, showing the growing power of community generosity and crossing the $20,000 milestone for the first time.

"The partnership between police, fire, Fredericton Food Bank – Greener Village, and our community continues to deliver essential necessities that no one should ever be without,” said Cst. Brady Atwater of the Fredericton Police Force. “Special thanks to our sponsors, organizers, volunteers, city staff, and players for making this incredible impact possible.”

"While we may have taken the trophy back to the station with our 4-3 victory, the community truly won," said Firefighter Alex Matthews of the Fredericton Fire Department. "This is what real teamwork looks like—on and off the ice. Beyond responding to emergency calls, we're answering our community's needs."

The organizations are immensely proud of this collective achievement, which, since 2023, has raised $46,301.62.

The Fredericton Police and Fire Departments would like to thank everyone who supported this event.
