Queen Street Arson Case Concludes with 2.5-Year Sentence

A Fredericton man has been sentenced to two and a half years in custody following a guilty plea in connection with the 2024 Queen Street arson.

Earlier today, Joshua Burden, age 50, of Fredericton, plead guilty to Arson Endangering Life and Breach of Probation related to a fire that occurred on the night of October 29, 2024, at the MacTavish Source for Sports building on Queen Street. Burden has been in custody since October 30, 2024.

The conviction follows a joint investigation by police and fire officials and underscores that deliberate acts of this nature carry serious consequences.

Fredericton Police would like to thank the public for their assistance, cooperation and continued support during the investigation.
