This is the first phase of a major infrastructure renewal project and public realm update along Northumberland Street.
What to expect:
- A phased closure of Northumberland Street from Queen to Brunswick Streets. East / west traffic in either direction will be maintained. Detour details to come.
- New brick pavers along the sidewalks, tree pits and decorative lighting will be built and installed.
The benefits:
- Implementing elements of the City Centre plan will update the public realm and create a more pedestrian friendly street and gateway into the downtown core.
- Renewed piping will benefit the quality and reliability of water, sanitary and sewer services in the area.
