Wellington Court

Project Type:Construction Projects
Project Subtype:Neighborhood Projects

The Wellington Court infrastructure upgrade project involves renewing underground water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer mains, along with new curbing and asphalt, to enhance the longevity and reliability of essential services.

What to Expect:

Traffic Impacts:

Local residents on Wellington Drive will have access to their homes, but there will be some work on Canada Street that will require one-lane traffic restrictions.

Public Transit Impacts:

Public transit may be affected due to traffic restrictions on Canada Street.

Pedestrian Impacts:

The project will impact localized pedestrian traffic in the area.

The Benefits:

Once completed, residents will benefit from a fully renewed street, improving both functionality and aesthetics.

Additional Upgrades:

This project may include trail improvements, new connections, or other complementary infrastructure enhancements.

Flood Protection:

The storm sewer system will be upgraded to meet current standards, helping to mitigate future flood risks.

Project Timing & Future Work:

Why is This Work Being Undertaken Now?

The infrastructure on Wellington Court has reached the end of its useful life. Frequent water main failures have placed the street high on the renewal list to address operational concerns and ensure more reliable services.

Will There Be More Construction on These Roads in the Coming Years?
Further construction plans will be determined as part of the City's ongoing infrastructure renewal efforts.

Project Funding:

This project is partially funded through the IBA Fund.

Are Any Trees Being Removed?

Some trees may need to be removed for the project. These will be identified before construction begins.

How Does This Fit Into Long-Term Planning?

This project supports the City's long-term financial plan by replacing aging infrastructure and reducing the infrastructure deficit.
