Targeted IEU operation results in arrest and multiple criminal charges

A targeted enforcement operation conducted by the Fredericton Police Force's Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) has resulted in the arrest of one individual following an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

On Oct. 1, 2026, members of the Fredericton Police Force's IEU, with support from DART (Direct Action Respect Team) patrol officers and specialized units, executed search warrants at two properties located on Millbank Road in Nasonworth and Route 102 in Island View. The operation followed a lengthy investigation into suspected criminal activity in the greater Fredericton area. There was no risk to public safety at any time during the operation.

Kelly Lee Moses, age 60, of Fredericton was arrested without incident and is charged with the following:

•    Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl;
•    Unsafe storage of a firearm;
•    Possession of a firearm without a licence;
•    Failure to comply with a release order; and
•    Multiple counts of possession of property obtained by crime.

Police also seized quantities of fentanyl and hydromorphone, drug trafficking paraphernalia, approximately $32,000 in Canadian currency, a double-barrelled shotgun, military-issued equipment, and multiple items believed to be stolen property (bicycle, jewelry and electronics). 

Moses was remanded until his next court appearance on Oct. 8, 2026.

Another individual was apprehended on an outstanding warrant from Miramichi.

The Fredericton Integrated Enforcement Unit is composed of members of the Fredericton Police Force, New Brunswick RCMP and New Brunswick Justice and Public Safety. The New Brunswick IEU units operate within nine municipal police forces across the province and focus on disrupting drug trafficking, organized crime and firearms-related offences.
