David Kelly Trail

Project Type:Construction Projects
Project Subtype:Trails

The David Kelly Trail project involves the construction of a portion of trail from Rainsford Lane to Prospect Street Extension. This new section of trail will provide better connectivity to the existing trails along Prospect Street Extension, ultimately linking to the new traffic circle at Patience Lane. The initiative is part of a broader effort to expand the trail system, making it easier for residents to access outdoor spaces and enjoy safe, efficient routes for walking and cycling.

What to Expect:

Traffic Impacts:

  • There will be no impact on residents or commuters.

Public Transit Impacts:

  • No impact on public transit.

Pedestrian Access:

  • This section of the trail does not currently exist, so there will be no impact on pedestrians.

What is Being Accomplished:

  • Construction of a new trail section between Rainsford Lane and Prospect Street Extension.

The Benefits:

  • The new trail will serve as a vital link, connecting to the existing trail along Prospect Street Extension and creating a seamless pathway for pedestrians and cyclists. This extension will eventually integrate with the planned new traffic circle at Patience Lane, further enhancing connectivity throughout the area and providing an efficient, safe route for commuting, recreation, and active transportation. By bridging these areas, the trail will foster greater mobility, supporting both local transit and outdoor activities for residents.

Project Timing & Future Work:

Why is this project being undertaken now?

  • This project is part of the continuation of existing trail improvement initiatives.

Will there be more construction in the future?

  • No, this is the final phase of the current trail improvements in this area.
