The City of Fredericton is pleased to announce that in 2026 the Transit Fare Assistance Program coordinated by Greater Fredericton Social Innovation (GFSI) will provide regular single-ride and Para Transit tickets to 38 community agencies or programs. Tickets were allocated based on identified need and ticket availability.
The program is designed to provide additional support to community groups as they assist their clients’ efforts to attend medical appointments, access education and training, seek employment, or visit service providers. Under the program, these agencies can apply to receive Transit and Para Transit tickets to distribute to their clients.
This year 11,040 tickets were distributed to 38 organizations within Fredericton to provide free access to transportation. Agencies receiving support in 2026 include the following:
