Fredericton Police Respond to Shooting on North Side

Fredericton - (N.B.) – In the early morning hours of Friday, March 6, 2026, members of the Fredericton Police Force Patrol Response, Police Dog Section (PDS), Forensic Identification Section (FIS) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) responded to a call for service reporting an individual had been shot on Fredericton’s north side.

Upon arrival, officers were advised the victim had been transported to hospital with unconfirmed injuries. Patrol officers secured the area and quickly apprehended four individuals who were caught fleeing the scene.

One 19-year-old adult and three youth remain in custody pending a court appearance. The victim is reported to be in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and reassure the public there is no on-going concern for community safety as it is believed this was an isolated incident.
