Community Recycling Depots

The City of Fredericton's two public blue recycling depots will be removed on December 31, 2025. What does this mean for residents?

Convenience created from curbside multi-unit recycling eliminates the need for recycling depots. Originally introduced to support recycling access for multi-residential properties, these bins have been removed as our community continues its transition to curbside collection.

Beginning in May 2025, Circular Materials Atlantic (CMA) began providing curbside recycling service to City of Fredericton residents living in multi-unit residential buildings.

CMA is the producer responsibility organization that is working with Recycling NB to implement and manage the new extended producer responsibility recycling system in New Brunswick. In support of these changes, the City of Fredericton amended by-law W-4 to support the success of CMA’s program and extend curbside recycling to all residents.

Owners and landlords who have yet to register can do so online with Circular Material Atlantic. Tenants whose buildings do not yet have recycling services are encouraged to contact their property manager or landlord to ensure these changes are underway.
