Kelly Murray

Councillor, Ward 10 (West Downtown / Plat / Sunshine Gardens)

Kelly Murray has been a resident of Ward 10 for over 25 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science from McMaster University, a governance certification from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University, and a law degree from the University of New Brunswick.

Counc. Murray brings extensive experience in community leadership and governance to her role on Council. She served on the board of directors of Liberty Lane for nearly 20 years, including more than a decade as president, where she helped expand affordable housing and services for individuals affected by domestic violence and led a successful capital campaign and building project.

She has also been a strong advocate for cycling and active transportation, serving as Executive Director of River Valley Cycling, President of Velo NB, and completing four elected terms on the board of Cycling Canada.

Kelly’s professional experience spans government, banking risk management, and governance in the non-profit and sport sectors.

She lives in The Plat with her husband, Norman, and enjoys spending her free time on the trails, cycling, canoeing, and enjoying downtown Fredericton.
