The Fredericton Police Force’s (FPF) Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) have seized more than $180,000 worth of drugs and over $20,000 in cash – the Force’s largest combined seizure this year - following a targeted enforcement operation on the city’s south side.
A 23-year-old man was arrested without incident on Dec. 16 after members of the Force’s IEU, with support from patrol officers, the Emergency Response Team, Forensic Identification Section and Justice and Public Safety Police Dog Services (K-9) executed search warrants at a residence on Lian Street and a self storage unit at another south side location.
The searches resulted in the seizure of over 1.2 kilograms of cocaine, about 800 grams of methamphetamine, roughly 50 grams of fentanyl, scales and packaging materials, and other items consistent with drug trafficking.
“This successful operation reflects our commitment to disrupting the flow of illegal drugs and dismantling criminal networks that compromise our communities,” said Insp. David Cooper of the Fredericton Police Force. “It represents the Force’s largest combined seizure of the year — roughly $200,000 in drugs and cash — and underscores the success of a lengthy, collaborative investigation with our public safety partners. By removing these substances and proceeds from circulation, we’ve made a meaningful impact on public safety and community well being.”
