Completed in 1896, this 1 ½-storey wood constructed house fronts on the north side of Aberdeen Street near Church Street. The front gabled structure is located opposite College Field.
Heritage Value
The heritage value of this dwelling is associated the early development of the east end of Aberdeen Street. A new street in 1895, Aberdeen Street extended from Northumberland to York Street. The eastern end of Aberdeen Street was originally known as Odell Grove, or simply Grove Street, its name derived from the recreational field opposite the street.
In the fall of 1895, Thomas Graham began construction on this house, with the expectation that the dwelling would be ready for occupancy during the winter. This house may be considered the most significant dwelling situated upon Aberdeen Street east of Regent Street, since it marks the beginning of housing development at the eastern end of Aberdeen Street.
