Safety Requirements:
• The unit must be a non combustible container fitted with a spark arresting cover constructed of steel wire mesh with openings no larger than ¼ inch (6 mm).
• The unit must be placed at least 10 feet (3 meters) from any combustible material, including structures, decks, fences, and vegetation, unless a certified appliance specifies lesser clearances.

Note:

Fire personnel will not issue a burning permit if the appliance is not set up and in place. You will be required to submit a new application when ready for inspection (going to the bottom of the queue).

The pathway leading to your firepit must be cleared of snow and obstacles before firefighters arrive for the inspection.
