Fredericton! The days are getting warmer, brighter, and longer! As spring blooms, so does outdoor recreation.  After a long winter, here’s a reminder of all the beautiful spring activities you can try!

Paddling

Fredericton LOVES its paddling network; and it’s best experienced in spring.

Picture this: The rivers are defrosting,  the foliage is blooming, you are paddling.  What can top a beautiful spring day spent on the water? Fredericton makes it easy with over 5 non-motorized boat launches.

Please paddle responsibly. Water runs faster in the spring due to the melting snow and water levels can rise quickly.

Fishing

Reel ‘em in! After a long winter it’s time to rig up your fishing rods and head out to the water. Did you know Fredericton has many fishing spots within city limits? Cast a line in the Wolastoq (Saint John River), Nashwak River and at Killarney Lake.

Fun Fact! The Wolastoq is the only river in North America where you can fish for the Triple Crown of sport fish: the musky, the striped bass, and the shortnose sturgeon.

Please refer to the Government of New Brunswick to acquire proper fishing licenses before fishing.
