Janet Moser was born into an entrepreneurial family in Fredericton, Ms. Moser developed a strong work ethic and passion for business at an early age. She went on to own and operate her own business for ten years before pursuing a new career path that led her to the Canadian Mental Health Association, where she became a dedicated advocate for mental health awareness and reform.
Following her work in the mental health sector, she spent more than a decade with the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce, where she created and delivered entrepreneurial mentoring and startup programming for newcomers building businesses and careers in New Brunswick. Her work supporting immigrant entrepreneurship has received national recognition, and Coun. Moser has been invited to speak on numerous occasions through the Conference Board of Canada and at other national conferences and events related to immigration, workforce development, and entrepreneurship.
Today, Coun. Moser serves as Manager of Business Development with the New Brunswick Multicultural Council (NBMC), continuing her work in community development, inclusion, and economic growth across the province.
Coun. Moser has a strong and longstanding commitment to giving back to the community. Through her own initiative, she launched two philanthropic programs focused on supporting women, children, and families facing difficult circumstances, Handbags for Hope for Women in Transition and Toys for Tots. Through these efforts, Ms. Moser has helped support more than 300 children and families over the past decades.
Her leadership and community impact were further recognized in 2025 when she was named one of Atlantic Canada’s Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Business by Atlantic Business Magazine.
Counc. Moser was first elected to Fredericton City Council in 2026.
Janet is married to her husband Pierre and is a proud mother to Daniel and Elizabeth, as well as a proud grandmother to her young grandsons.
