The City of Fredericton continues to seek youth ages 14-20 who would like to make a difference to their community by serving on the newly formed Youth Advisory Committee.
The committee will advise Council on important social, recreational, and lifestyle issues concerning the municipality’s younger population.
Youth from all backgrounds are encouraged to consider joining the committee, bringing their knowledge and concerns to the table.
A key part of this effort will be to create opportunities for youth to learn more about the work of local government, while providing feedback to the staff and City Council.
Formation of the committee is part of the City’s commitment to the UNESCO Coalition of Inclusive Municipalities, which is intended to engage youth as a key component of building an inclusive community.
Interested youth should send an email outlining their interest in serving on the committee, as well as their contact information to the Office of the City Clerk, 397 Queen Street, Fredericton, NB E3B 1B5 or cityclerk@fredericton.ca. The deadline to apply is 4:30 pm on April 21, 2023.
