City supports 28 community groups through Transit Fare Assistance Program

The City of Fredericton is pleased to announce that the 2024 Transit Fare Assistance Program has been able to provide regular single-ride and Para Transit tickets to 28 community agencies or programs. Tickets were allocated based on identified need and ticket availability.

Agencies receiving support in 2024 include the following :

  2. Ability New Brunswick
  3. Adult Literacy
  4. Big Brother/Big Sisters of Fredericton and Oromocto, Inc.
  5. Capital Region Mental Health and Addictions Association
  6. Central Valley Adult Learning Association
  7. Christ Church Cathedral
  8. Fredericton Community Kitchens Inc.
  9. Fredericton Public Library
  10. Gignoo Transition House Inc.
  11. Greener Village
  12. Inclusion NB
  13. Jobs Unlimited Inc.
  14. John Howard Society of Fredericton Inc.
  15. Liberty Lane Inc.
  16. Multicultural Association of Fredericton Inc.
  17. New Brunswick Community Residence Inc.
  18. New Brunswick African Association
  19. Riverstone Recovery Center Inc.
  20. Sexual Violence New Brunswick
  21. St. Paul's United Church
  22. Tannery Court Cooperative Ltd.
  23. The Salvation Army Community and Family Services
  24. Under One Sky
  25. Wilmot United Church

The program is designed to provide additional support to community groups as they assist their clients’ efforts to attend medical appointments, access education and training, seek employment, or visit service providers. Under the program, these agencies can apply to receive Transit and Para Transit tickets to distribute to their clients.
