Jocelyn Pike was appointed as the City of Fredericton’s new Deputy Mayor at the regular Council meeting held on May 27, 2024. This is the first time two women are serving as Mayor and Deputy Mayor for the City of Fredericton. Councillor Pike will serve in this capacity for the next two years.
Deputy Mayor Jocelyn Pike has lived in many parts of Fredericton and now resides in Devon. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick, and a Master of Science in Business Degree from Husson College in Maine. After a 26-year career with UPS, the Deputy Mayor retired as the Canadian Customs Compliance Manager and West Canada Air Coordinator.
She is a firm believer in volunteering and giving back to the community. During her career at UPS, she was involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the United Way travelling to Vancouver and Toronto. She was involved in many truck and plane pulls and walks in support of Juvenile Diabetes.
Deputy Mayor Pike was first elected to Fredericton City Council in May 2021. This is her first time serving as Deputy Mayor.
As part of the regular Council meeting, new chairs and members were also announced for the City’s Standing Committees. The appointments are for two years.
